Avers : REPVBBLICA ITALIANA Revers : MEDAGLIA d'ONORE PER LUNGA NAVIGAZIONE COMPIUTA 917‰ 33.7mm Cette décoration fut instituée en 1904 par Vittorio Emanuele III Roi d'Italie par Décret Royal. Il voulait accorder une récompense distinctive spéciale aux militaires de la Marine ainsi qu'aux gens de mer, pour long exercice de la navigation et mérites de la Marine Nationale. En principe, elle était en argent et en 1945, dans sa brève période de règne, Umberto de Savoie établit l'attribution de la médaille en trois métaux, or, argent et bronze selon les périodes de navigation.
